Geir Berentsen to Business and Management Science
"My reception at NHH has been excellent, and it seems to be a very good environment at NHH both professionally and socially", says the new Norwegian assistant professor at the Department of Business and Management Science.
His position has a duration of four years.
Geir's main research interests are in the field of statistics such as count time series, longitudinal data and spatial models with applications in finance, medicine and econometrics.
His main research topic at the moment is modelling corporate defaults, where the goal is to get a better understanding of the factors that influences corporate defaults on a macroeconomic scale.
This semester Geir has been teaching MET4 - Empirical Methods.
Geir finished his PhD in statistics at the Department of Mathematics, University of Bergen, in 2013.
In 2013 – 2016 he worked as a consultant in Safetec Nordic AS, a company that supplies a wide range of risk management services. He then returned to the Department of Mathematics working as a postdoctor in the period 2016 – 2019 before accepting the position as assistant professor at NHH in 2019.
