Alexander Willén to SAM

Alexander Willén has just taken up a seven year position as Assistant Professor  (tenure track) at the Department of Economics. He is also affiliated with FAIR.

"It's a very inspiring department with great ambitions, and I am extremely happy to be a part of the team. I am particularily excited about the prospect of collaborating with my new colleagues", Alexander Willén says. 

Research interests

Economics of Education, Labor Economics and Public Economics are Alexander Willen's research interests.


Alexander Willén was born in Sweden. He received his PhD from Cornell Univeristy in 2018, his MSc from Cornell University in 2016, an MPP from Georgetown University in 2013 and a BA from Durham University in 2011.

He is affiliated with the Uppsala Center for Labor Studies. He is also a Foreign Research Fellow at the Bolivian Academy of Economic Sciences.
