BIO

Therese Kobbeltvedt, Cand. Psychol.(2000), Dr. Psychol.(2004) is a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctoral degree in risk judgment and decision making. She earned her Cand. Psychol. degree and her Doctor of Psychology degree from the University of Bergen and the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy.

Dr. Kobbeltvedt is qualified as judged by five different scientific committees for associate professorships in the following five (six) disciplines: Cognitive Psychology, General Psychology, Biological and Medical Psychology, Social Psychology and Management.

To join NHH she had to leave behind her tenured associate professorship of General Psychology at the University of Bergen. She joined NHH to combine and apply her five (six) associate professorship fields of expertise in a broader area, characterized by complexity, system dynamics, growth and global cooperation.

Dr. Kobbeltvedt has a broad interest in the utility of psychology, from the shaping of information via connotations, to behavior change by tax regulations.

Dr. Kobbeltvedt has a range of publications within diverse areas, such as decision processes, risk perception, strategies for learning and education, economic psychology, naval and operational psychology as well as health promotion.

Common for all her publications is the aim to validate and improve theoretical models for prediction of behavior.

Since 2011 she has been affiliated with the University of Stanford, The Stanford Center for Mind, Brain and Computation in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Kobbeltvedt is inspired by the businesses in Silicon Valley  and their innovative and growth oriented spirit. With the help from her hard working master´s degree students at NHH she runs the Googleplus non-profit knowledge sharing site for readers interested in decision making psychology and management.

In the future Dr. Kobbeltvedt would focus on further digitalization of psychological content for businesses, advisory board work, and forensic judgments. She is eager to promote her field of expertise, but does not like to be the center of attention above that.
