The research group in economic geography is small and divided into two directions:
Corporate geography studies the geography of innovation, innovation systems, entrepreneurship and agglomeration from a firm perspective.
Applied Spatial Data Analysis
focuses on the implementation of software for spatial statistics, and the nurturing of an informal international community of users and developers of such software under the umbrella of the open source R project. This involves not only work in spatial econometrics as such, but also collaboration with statisticians, epidemiologists, and environmental, earth and political scientists among others.
