    Learning outcome

    The course will give the students in-depth knowledge of practical management, and models used for management, of the environment and natural resources.

    After completing the course, students will:

     

    • have an overview of the main types of models used for management of the environment and natural resources
    • understand how these models are adapted for practical implementation
    • have an overview of challenges associated with management of the environment and natural resources
    • have understanding of the importance of dynamic aspects associated with management of natural resources and the environment
    • have understanding of the importance of uncertainty
    • have insight in the limitations of the various types of models
    • be able to perform practical exercises related to management of the environment and natural resources

    From Fall 2015 the following prerequisites will apply:

     

    • The students must have knowledge about calculus and economic optimization techniques equivalent to ECO401 or ENE420 or similar, for example MAT011/MAT11 or MAT016/MAT13.
