    • Value creation and value capturing through cooperative strategies.
    • How many companies can use contracts, incentives and relationships to develop sustainable cooperative strategies.
    • Learning and knowledge transfer across firm boundaries.

    Knowledge - the candidate

    • Has knowledge and understanding of central themes, theories, tools and methodologies within the area of cooperative strategies.
    • Is familiar with current research relevant for understanding cooperative strategies.
    • Has an academic basis that prepares for future studies of cooperative strategies
    • Has a critical and reflective understanding of the predictive power of theories and models introduced in the course.

    Skills - the candidate

    • Can apply research findings within the area of cooperative strategies on practical and theoretical issues.
    • Can work independently with practical problems and challenges based on theories, models, methods , and tools presented in the course.
    • Can properly apply relevant tools and techniques.
    • Can give advice to companies as to how they can develop and pursue cooperative strategies.

    General competence - the candidate

    • Has good understanding of cooperative strategies and the difference between cooperative and competitve strategies.
    • Can plan and execute a variety of tasks and projects related to cooperative strategies over an extended time-period, alone or as a member of group, and in line with ethical guidelines and requirements.
    • Can exchange views and experiences with others with background in cooperative strategies and thereby contribute to the development of good practices.

  • Credit reduction due to overlap

    Students who have previously taken STR432 Strategiske allianser og nettverk and/or MBM427 Business-to-business marketing and management cannot receive cource credits for this course.

  • Requirements for course approval

    Course approval requires active participation in a group. The group is responsible for participating in the Markstrat simulation, submitting a number of simulation assignments, writing up a course paper based on the simulation, and presenting the course paper in the class at the end of the course.

  • Assessment

    Three (3) hour written exam (50%)

    Group-based course paper in relation to the Markstart simulation (50%)

    A collection of articles and Markstrat participant handbook.
