Research has to be in English
Arnt Ove Hopland and Aksel Mjøs: It is better with "English only" that "Norwegian only" if we have to choose.
I received my PhD in economics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2012, and joined the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) as Assistant Professor in 2013. From August 2017 to August 2019 I was a tenured Associate Professor. I'm now a full Professor of business economics with a particular emphasis in taxation. My papers on taxation have made it into top journals in both economics and accounting, and I have papers in as different journals as Econometrica and The Accounting Review.
I'm also active in research on local public finance, and have published papers on this topic in Public Choice and Economics of Governance.
I have participated in a few studies with a "behavioral twist", resulting in papers in Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance and The B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy.
Although the fields above are the ones that build my academic career, the work I do with the largest potential for real-world impact is probably in Facilities Management. Among other policy relevant questions, I study causes and consequences of poor maintenance of local public buildings, and derive optimal maintenance strategies. I've published papers on this topic in journals such as Facilities and Journal of Facilities Management.
This research is of great interest to policy makers, who often ask me to contribute on meetings and conferences. You can see me in action on this video posted by The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training from their conference on physical learning environment in October 2017.

School buildings throughout Norway are in a state of disrepair. Even in the most wealthy municipalities, local politicians put off prioritising maintenance. ‘How does this affect the learning environment,' asks researcher Arnt Ove Hopland.
