Possibilities available to women on the academic staff
Below follows a brief overview of central measures at women in general and measures aimed at women in various types of positions in particular:
For all women on the academic staff of NHH:
- You are free to prioritise which boards, councils and committees you find it expedient to participate in.
- You can be granted financial support for participation at conferences or workshops, also where you are not presenting your own work - see the Funds regulations for more details.
- You can also be granted financial support for short stays abroad, also stays less than one month. See the Funds regulations.
- The annual limit on financial grants in connection with participation at conferences, workshops etc. (travel and subsistence) can be increased to NOK 40 000 per year (the standard limit is presently NOK 30 000) in special cases, for example in order to stimulate increased gender equality, cf. the Action plan for gender equality and the Funds regulations.
- Central founds have been allocated for central measures and to stimulate measures initiated locally. The allocation for 2008 is NOK 900 000. The departmends apply for funds, and the Academic Appointment Committee allocates the funds. The departments are free to decide their internal processing themselves. The deadline for 2008 is 9 May.
For female postdoctoral researchers:
- You will be given an annual allowance of NOK 20 000 for further qualifications. Unspent money will automatically be carried over into the next budget year, but the maximum spending limit for one year cannot exceed NOK 40,000 (money carried over + new annual allowance). This measure does not apply to employees in external finances positions.
- Procedure for use of the annual allowance:
- Submit invoices and travel expense forms via the department.
- The department will attribute costs covered by the allowance as follow:
- Invoices - use BUDGET ITEM: 1130; and under ANALYSE: use S and the employee number of the allowance recipient.
- Expense forms - use BUDGET ITEM: 1130; under ANALYSE: use S and the employee number of the allowance recipient; RESSNR: the employee number of the person travelling, if this person is employed at NHH. It is possible that the traveller is a person other than the owner of the allowance, and it is also possible that the traveller is a person who is not an employee of NHH.
- Paper copies of relevant invoices and/or completed travel expenses forms, along with attachments, should be sent to the Senior Adviser for gender equality in the Director's Staff for approval.
