Study Halls

NHHs study halls can be used by students for studying and preparations.
We have worked out terms for use of the study halls to make your stay as beneficial and pleasant as possible.

 ·          Quiet reading room - no talking or use of mobile phones (silent without vibrations). Show consideration when using computers to avoid disturbing your fellow students.
·          No reservations -   no one has permanent seats without a special permit (see text below). If you leave the seat for more than 30 minutes you have to clear out your things, and leave a note specifying the time you left the seat and when you will return. At the designated time the seat can be used by others. If you have not returned 15 minutes after given time, you will lose your seat. The seat can only be reserved for up to 2.5 hour.

It is not allowed to leave behind personal items over the night or reserve seats if you are going to be away for an extended period of time than mentioned above. It is not allowed to reserve seats for friends or fellow students.

It is also not allowed to leave books and personal items on the shelves by the study seats. In some of the study halls there are extra shelves where you can keep the books at your own risk. These shelves are not in connection to the study hall seats.

From time to time the study halls will be cleared out to avoid that students occupies seats. Books and other personal items will then be removed.

·          Tidy– clear up after yourself – it`s nobody else`s job
·          Drinks – use a cup with lid or a bottle with top
·          No hot meals– eat your hot meal in the cafeteria

Similar conditions are developed for group rooms, auditorium, library, computer room, student café etc. Also note the following:
·          It is not possible to reserve permanent seats for other than students with disabilities. You can reserve such seats by applying to the Student and Academic Affairs Office by the Examination Office.
·          There are some seats available in the study hall in the 5th floor in the Merino building and the 3rd floor of the Service Building for students that deliver children in day care / school. The marked seats are reserved until 10 am. Seats are available for all students if they still are vacant after 10 am. Students who have the opportunity to make use of these seats can identify themselves with a card that says: "I deliver children in day care / school".
