Degrees
I am completing my master studies now. Is there anything I have to do to get my degree finalized?
The thesis is often among the last elements needing completion in the master degree. Once the grade for the thesis is received, we check that you have passed all necessary courses and if this is in order, we finalize your degree.
If you are considering staying a semester overtime to take some extra courses (and still have this possibility within the 3 year study right), you must notify the Student and Academic Affairs Office to wait with granting your degree. Once the degree is granted your chance to take further courses expires.
How is my degree translated to English?
Bachelor i økonomi og administrasjon: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics and Business Administration.
Master i økonomi og administrasjon - siviløkonom: Master of Science (MSc) in Economics and Business Administration.
Master i regnskap og revisjon: Master of Science (MSc) in Accounting and Auditing.
Earlier degrees
Siviløkonom (4 year programme): The siviløkonom degree does not have a direct translation in English. The four year Siviløkonom degree was a four year programme in economics and business administration consisting of three years at bachelor/undergraduate level and one year at master/graduate level.
Høyere avdelingsstudium: Graduate Programme in Economics and Business Administration.
What is a Diploma Supplement?
Diploma Supplement is an international document which describes in English, the studies you have completed and the Norwegian Education System in general. It comes as an attachment to your certificate. All students which receive their degree from NHH automatically get a Diploma Supplement attached. It becomes especially useful when applying for jobs outside of Norway.
