Terminology and Terminography
NHH has a long record of contrastive applied terminological/lexicographical research on economic administrative and legal domains in English, French, German, Norwegian and Spanish. Members of the Department who take a special interest in terminology and terminography/specialised lexicography have undertaken research on developing new theories on concepts, conceptual analysis and ontologies to enhance professional communication, particularly within these domains. In addition, we work on developing language technology solutions to improve terminological databases, such as the implementation of semi-automatic term extraction tools for Norwegian and parallel corpora. Our aim is to provide research-based terminological resources to support higher education, trade and industry and society at large in their professional communication.
