The EU project CLARA is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network receiving funding from the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme. NHH’s Department of Department of Professional and Intercultural Communication is one of the nine hosts who offer research training for Early Stage Researchers.
Professional knowledge domains, such as economy, energy and medicine, present special challenges to correct understanding, especially across languages. The project will carry out research on theoretical, methodological and technical topics relating to the task of harmonising language resources and terminology for professional domains.
The local project group consists of Gisle Andersen (project leader), Magnar Brekke, Marita Kristiansen, Sunniva Whittaker, the PhD scholar and a senior guest researcher.
NHH will host a one-week PhD training course on methods and technologies for consolidating and integrating terminological resources across domains and languages. The course will consist of lectures, discussions, hands-on training activities and thesis/project work. The PhD students will be invited to present their projects for discussion with the invited speakers and other course participants. For more information about the course see the page Terminology and resource harmonisation.
