Research group in International economics
Research topics
The research in international economics covers areas like trade theory, new economic geography, foreign direct investment, fiscal federalism, and development economics. Focus is also directed to issues in transport economics and more sector-oriented studies (most notably shipping). The approach is mainly theoretical, but increasingly empirical studies, using both econometric techniques and numerical general equilibrium approaches, have been carried out.
Networks
The group is linked to several international networks like the European Research Network on International Trade (ERWIT), Nordic International Trade Seminars (NOITS), International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME), and the CESIfo network in Munich.
Research output
The achievements of the groups are respectable, including publications in some very good general journals (like
European Economic Review,
Economics Letters and
Economic Journal) and good field journals.
