Research group in Economic Geography

Research topics

Research in Corporate Geography is studying the geography of innovation and entrepreneurship combined with studies of business location.

Research in Applied Spatial Data Analysis has focused on the implementation of software for spatial statistics, and the nurturing of an informal international community of users and developers of such software under the umbrella of the open source R project. This involves not only work in spatial econometrics as such, bur also collaboration with statisticians, epidemiologists, and environmental, earth and political scientists among others.

Network

Research in Economic Geography is integrated with different topical groups at NHH, the University of Bergen, and the wider research community.

The group is also related to a network of research projects under a larger program organized by the Norwegian Science Foundation, Nordic/European innovation-research networks, and IGU’s Commission on ‘The Dynamics of Economic Spaces’.

Research output

Research outcomes have been published in books and book chapters, and in good field journals.
