Every five years, NHH presents two research awards. Additionally, an Award for Excellence in Teaching is given each year.

External prizes awarded to NHH researchers

 · European Lifetime Achievement Award to Agnar Sandmo (2009)

Sandmo received the European Lifetime Achievement Award in Environmental

Economics for his prominent contributions within economic analysis overall

and environmental economics more specifically.

 

·  Nansen Research Award to Victor D. Norman and Agnar Sandmo (2009)

Norman and Sandmo share the 2009 Fridtjof Nansen Award for Excellent Research within Humanities and Social Science.

 

·  Nobel Prize in Economics to Finn Kydland (2004)

Kydland, Adjunct Professor at NHH, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2004. He is the third Norwegian in history to receive this prestigious award.

 

·  Årets Møbius to Agnar Sandmo (2002)  

Given by the Research Council of Norway

 

·  Lanchester Prize to Terje Hansen (1973)  

Given by the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS)
