I cannot find my journal in the ITAR-register
Bibsys ForskDok use the ITAR-register for all scientific publications that may give the intitution publication points. ITAR is a norwegian acronyme for ImportTjeneste og AutoritetsRegister (Import Service and Authority Register). Practically speaking, a publication channel must be registered by ITAR to be reckoned scientific and thereby generate publication points. The ITAR-list is published by the Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD). Any single person can propose new publication channels for the list. This is further explained in the menu at the left ("propose new publication channels"). It is the national subject councils that will have the final say of which new proposals to include in the list. Each year there is a deadline for new proposals, normally in October. Publication channels not included in the ITAR-list cannot generate publication points for your institution the current year. If you know that your journal/publisher are accepted, but still cannot fint it in the list, plese note that there is a delay for new channels to appear in the list. NSD will publish the final list at the end of each year. It is not possible to part-register a publication before the ITAR-list is complete. If the publication channel is found in the list, there is no problem.
How do I log on to ForskDok?
Go to the web-address
http://forskdok.no. There is no english version of the interface, I'm afraid. Use the menu selection
logg på Bibsys ForskDok on the bottom of the page. You can also use the shortcut in the menu at the left on the library's webpage. Please notice that you'l need a special password to log on. Your normal bibsys-password will not work here. You'll have to apply for the password with bibsys - the library at NHH cannot issue these locally. Normally your email will be used as your username. NHH employees do not need to apply for a ForskDok-username by using the link on the ForskDok webpage. If you are already registered as a bibsys-user, that is if the library has registered you as a loaner, you can go to
this page and type in your email-address. A new password for ForskDok will be sent to your email. If FoskDok does not recognize your email-address, your email is probably not correctly registered at the library. Contact the library and we will update your profile at once.
I seem to have done a mistake in my ForskDok-registration. How do I correct it?
- Log on to Bibsys ForskDok
- Have a look at the field opplysninger fra personregisteret (information from the persons-register). Here you can create connections to a person in the register. Normally you'll make a connection to your own name. If there is no active connection, make one by searching for your name by clickingopprett kobling (establish connection).
- Select mine publikasjoner (My publications) in the top-menu.
- Choose the correct item from the list by clicking it's title.
- Do the corrections.
- Remember to save the changes (in the last tab - 'oppsummering').
IT is also possible to search for the publication you want to correct by using the search options in the
publikasjoner (publications)-tab. You cannont change a post you did not create yourself. Errors in post created by others must be corrected by the library. In such cases, please contact
Fredrik Kavli at the library.
By mistake I registered a publication twice, and I cannot delete one of them.
The registrators can change their own post, but not delete them. If you need to delete a duplicate, please contact
Fredrik Kavli at the library and we will sort it out.
What is a publication channel?
The term publication channel (Publiseringskanal in Norwegian) is a term used in the ITAR-system to denote such as journals, publishers, series etc. The publication channel for an article will normally be a journal, and a book is published in a publisher-channel. We also use this term when talking about printed publications.
