Our collection contains books, reports and journals that are registered in BIBSYS. You can reach BIBSYS from every PC with internet access, either from the library's homepage or BIBSYS directly. BIBSYS will give you access to all the university libraries in Norway. If you only wish to search the local collection, pleas tick the box marked "Norges handelshøyskole" in the opening screen(fig 1) before selecting "Search selected sources". Choose "Advanced Search" (fig.2). Here it is possible to chose which types of publications you want to search, and also the desired format

BIBSYS is an easy-to-use system. The information recorded on the different publications is normally restricted to: title, author, publisher, one or more subject terms, and some codes which you need special training to utilize fully. This means that when searcing for literature on a given subject, you'll have to try different synonymes, dialects and languages. If you use english search terms, not all norwegian literature will be found, and vice versa.
For a full walkthrough in searching BIBSYS please consult tihis link.
BIBSYS does not contain journal articles. The libraries will only register the journal titles in BIBSYS. If you wish to see if we have a certian journal in our collection, please tick the boxes marked "E-jornals" and "Printed journals" in the advanced serach. If you tick the box "Norges Handelshøyskole" in the opening screen, you will only search the local database.
Bibsys Mime is a search interface for searching multiple databases simultanously. You can search for exactly the (electronic) article you want. Also try Bibsys Mime if you need sertain information about a given journal.
You can search our collections by author/title/subject: If you are uncertain about spelling, use * or ? next to the word stem to include alternative spellings. To combine search terms (author, subject, word from title) just write all the terms in one line, seperated by space. Remember to use * or ? to get the alternative spellings, ex. singular - plural. Also remember to search in two languages if you are searching for literature in two languages. There are two ways to do this:
The result-window will give you an overview of the searched literature in both languages.

Student's papers and master theses given at NHH you can find by using the "Advanced search" option in Bibsys Ask. Tick the boxes for "Theses" and "Student papers". Again you'll have to mark the box "Norges Handelshøyskole" in the opening screen if you want to search only the local collection

The best way to locate journal articles is the journal databases or Bibsys Tyr. An overview over current journal databases can be found here. Also remember that Bibsys Mime can search multiple databases at the same time. The most common way of searching the journal databases, is to search on subject. The common search result will then be a list over articles covering the searched subject. Normally you will get information about author(s) and title, and in some cases an abstract and bibliographic information.
Normally you will be able to read the full article from the database, or a link to the full text will be supplied.
When trying to locate a special journal in our collection, you'll have to search Bibsys Ask or Bibsys Tyr to see if we have a current subscribtion to the journal. Bibsys Tyr will give you direct access to the article, Bibsys Ask will not
Here is a list over all our journals, both printed and electronic.
This token means that the article is electronic.
The databases will also contain references to journals not currently in the library's collection. You can order a copy of the article by klicking the "order" button in Bibsys Ask. Ordering of cpoies is a pay service.
