Renew your own loans
You do not need to call the library, send email or drop by to renew your loans. If you have access to a computer with internet connection, and an userID for Bibsys ASK, it's easy to renew your own loans. Please note that the NHH library only accept a single renewal of loans.
How to do it
- Point your browser tohttp://ask.bibsys.no. Then click log on at the top right corner. The actual screen you are looking at may differ somewhat from the images here, but the log-on procedure will be the same. You will see something like this:
- If you have recieved a userID and a password from bibsys earlier, use it at this point. Please note that NHH is not a member of the FEIDE-system, and that you cannot use your normal student's ID for loging on to bibsys ASK.
If you do not have a password for bibsys ASK, you'll need to get one from bibsys. Klick on the link order password in the menu on this page:
Fill inn your loaner's ID and last name in the forms. Then klick the OK-button. The Loaner's ID (Patron ID) is usually your student's number prefixed by the letters 'nhhb'. The number is printed on the back of your student's card. Your new password will be sent on an email to your registered address.
- With a new password in hand, it's time to log on. Write your information in the fields on the same page you just left - where you ordered the new password. If you have gotten lost on the pages, it's just a matter of clicking the 'log on' button at topmost right to get back to the logon-screen.
- After loging in and choosing 'my page', you'll reach a screen looking somewhat like this:
In this screenshot, we have marked where to click in order to renew you loans; that is loan overview/renew.
- Your loan overview can be long or short, of course depending on how many loans you have at the moment. When only having one book, it may look like this:
Once more the marked area shows where to go to renew the loan. Klick the renew-button to ask for a renewal of the loan. You will get a message if the renewal is declined. A reason for declining the renewal can be that there is a waiting-list on the book, the book is renewed earlier or the book is owned by another library and they want it back.
