Aims

NHH will be an internationally recognised research institution with expertise at the highest international level.


Relevant and innovative research will be a cornerstone of NHH’s academic development, laying the foundation for research-based teaching and contributing to new insight for business and society. The research will have a special focus on the needs for knowledge and competence in business and the public sector.


NHH will be the most comprehensive academic environment within the fields of Economics and Business Administration in Norway. Together with SNF, the School will undertake high-quality research covering the entire spectrum from basic to applied research. 


The PhD programme will be an integral part of research activities at NHH.


Objectives

• NHH will have a research environment that helps to make the School an attractive workplace for outstanding international researchers
• Academic breadth will continue to be an important hallmark of research undertaken at NHH
• Promotion and profiling of research at NHH will contribute to increased awareness and recognition of NHH nationally and internationally
• NHH will demonstrate and consolidate its international expertise through regular publication in the most prestigious journals
• NHH will collaborate extensively with leading international researchers and research institutions
• NHH will increase the number of publications per member of its academic staff, as well as the proportion that contributes to such publications  
• NHH will do well in the national and international competition for research funds
• The National Research School in Business Economics and Administration (NFB), for which NHH is the host institution, will be a driving force for increased efforts in and focus on research activities in these fields.
