The A. Wilhelmsen Foundation provides scholarships for business student from NHH's Baltic partner schools to take the MSc in International Business the MSc in Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment or the MSc in Marketing and Brand Management at NHH. In order to be eligible for the A. Wilhelmsen scholarship you need to have applied and been accepted as a student of one of these three MSc programmes. Please apply for the MSc programmes here

Students with a bachelor degree from the following schools are eligible to apply for the scholarship:

  • Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania
  • University of Latvia, Latvia
  • Stockholm School of Economics, Latvia
  • Estonian Business School, Estonia
  • University of Tartu, Estonia

The amount of the scholarship is as follows:

  • 300,000 NOK (approximately 38,000 EUR) in total over two years
    (75,000 NOK or approximately 9,500 EUR each semester)

Accommodation

All registered students may apply for reasonable priced housing at one of the hostels, owned and operated by the Student Welfare Organisation in Bergen (SiB). See application form for more information.

Tuition and fees

As member of the University Council in Norway, NHH does not charge any application or tuition fee. However, the students have to pay a small welfare fee, approximately NOK 700,- (approx EUR 90) each semester.

Applications

Applicants for the A. Wilhelmsen Foundation scholarship programme should have the following academic qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from one of the schools covered by the programme
  • At least one and a half years of previous studies in business administration and/or economics (this includes statistics, mathematics, accounting, finance, computing, management and marketing)
  • Applicants must have a minimum total score of 600 points in the GMAT. GRE test - on the new scale: 152 on the Quantitative Reasoning section is required; on the old scale: 660 points on the Quantitative Reasoning section is required.
  • Students from non-English speaking countries are required to have passed TOEFL with at least 575 points for the written test, 233 for the computer-based version or 90 points on the internet based test. They must score at least 6.5 in the IELTS. Students that have two years or more of higher education where the language of tuition was English, do not need to take TOEFL or IELTS. TOEFL and IETLS scores must be from within the last two years.
  • Applicants are required to send an official Transcript of Grades from every college or university they have attended (sealed in an confidential envelope and signed across the flap) and a copy of their curriculum vitae (CV) or resume along with the application.

The application must include:

  • Completed application form (download Application form)
  • Motivation letter for the scholarship
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • An official Transcript of Grades from every college or university attended (sealed in a confidential envelope and signed across the flap)
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume
  • Passport-sized photograph

The application form must be signed and dated by the applicant before it is posted. Applications will not be considered complete until all required paperwork has been received.
