Per Ivar Gjærum (2001-2005)
Per Ivar Gjærum is another NHH graduate that spent a number of years gaining practical experience before embarking on an academic career at the school. After graduating heworked for a period at Statens Tekniske Institutt (Sate Technical Institute), Norcem and Industriøkonomisk institutt (Industrial Economics Institute) before returning to NHH in 1982. Gjærum became associate professor specialising in the areas of project evaluation, capital budgeting, entrepreneurship and operations management, areas on which he has published widely. He gained a reputation fro being an outward and sociable rector with a great networking ability.
